BACE partnered with Illumina Accelerator this February to host a joint in person event featuring startup companies breaking ground in the space of genomics and epigenomics. We enjoyed a lively discussion, learnt about the power of genomics today, and imagined the future of multi-omics together.
The event opened with a Welcome and Introduction to BACE by Monika Maleszewska, the founder and organizer of BACE, followed by the Introduction to Illumina Accelerator by Marc Martin Casas, Head of Illumina Accelerator, San Francisco Bay Area.
The introduction was followed by an excellent panel moderated by Marc Martin Casas, that hosted Gary Schroth, VP and Distinguished Scientist at Illumina, Tatyana Dobreva, CEO and Co-Founder at ImYoo, Nick Hughes, Founder at Acrobat Genomics, and Varun Govil, CEO and Co-Founder at Epinoma. The panel explored the present and the future of genomics together with the amazing audience.
The panel was followed by lively networking and discussion that carried on for another hour, until the event space closed.
We left inspired and with high expectations for the future of multi-omics, where cheaper genomic sequencing combined with cutting-edge bioinformatics and AI technologies will enable new levels of progress in diagnostics, precision medicine, life sciences, and beyond.
